About Juernes de Mesa
We're an association that sets up board game tables every week so nobody misses their Thursday game.
What is Juernes de Mesa
Every Thursday we meet at venues in several cities to play board games. We propose a few games, people sign up for the ones they fancy most and we organise the tables.
Whether it's your first game or your shelves are full: there are easy games to start with, longer ones for those who want to make the most of the evening, and an open table to bring your own.
Why "juernes"?
Because Thursday is the new Friday: a weekday that already feels like the weekend. Jueves + viernes = juernes, plus a table.

Our story
From one table among friends to weekly meetups in several cities.
Juernes de Mesa is born
It starts as a way to get together and play with colleagues from work.
The first official Juernes de Mesa
After many games among colleagues, we hold the first one open to anyone who wants to sign up, at Júpiter Juegos, our first venue.
Our first website
We launch the Juernes de Mesa website, a more modern one that has let us grow to where we are today.
Juernes de Mesa Elche is born
We open our second venue, at Homelands.
The first Juernes de Mesa Alcobendas
Our third venue, at Júpiter Juegos Alcobendas. And this time we play on Sundays.
Our new website
Better prepared for more and more venues, and easier and quicker for organisers and players alike.
Why come to a juernes
You don't need to be an expert or know anyone. Just feel like playing.
Free
Signing up and playing costs nothing.
Easy
Sign up in a minute on the website, no account needed, and we explain the rules at the table.
For everyone
No experience or games of your own needed: we bring the games and the table.
Open
Whether you come on your own, as a couple or with your group, there's room for you. New faces are always welcome.
We're looking for people who want to have fun
If you fancy a good time, meeting people and playing in a friendly atmosphere, this is your place. We'll figure out the rest together.
How tables are assigned
We want as many people as possible playing what they fancy most. This is how it works:
You mark your choices
When signing up, mark each game as your 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice, or "I don't want to play it". The open table is one more option and you can have several 1st choices.
We assign the tables
Signing up doesn't give you a table. When sign-ups close, the organiser generates the allocation with an algorithm and can adjust it by hand.
We let you know
We post the tables in the WhatsApp group (and by email if you're not in it). All that's left is to come and play.
The allocation rules
- A 1st choice is worth more than a 2nd, and a 2nd more than a 3rd: the allocation looks for the combination with the most points for everyone.
- You'll never get a game you marked as "I don't want to play it".
- If a table doesn't reach its minimum players (the game's, or a higher one set by the organizer), it isn't set up and its players move to their next choice.
- If you bring a +1, you'll always sit at the same table.
- With equal preferences, whoever signed up first goes first.
- If you don't fit in any of your choices, you go to the open table (if there is one) or the organiser finds you a seat.
An example
Azul has 2 seats and three people sign up, in this order:
What they mark
| # | Azul | Open table |
|---|---|---|
| 1.Ana | 1st | 2nd |
| 2.Bea | 1st | No |
| 3.Carlos | 1st | 3rd |
The result
Azul2/2
- Bea
- Carlos
Open table
- Ana
Our code of conduct
We want every juernes to be a safe, inclusive and pleasant space. These are the values we share:
Respect
For everyone, whatever their opinion, experience or level.
Equality
No discrimination on grounds of gender, sexual orientation, origin, religion, age or any other condition.
Inclusion
We encourage everyone to take part and feel part of the group.
Good atmosphere
Fun and getting along come before competitiveness.
Taking part in our activities means accepting the code of conduct, which also covers what we don't tolerate and what happens if it's breached.
Arcade, for the table
